Questions On Installing Dci From Lucid
Just received the Sony / S2000 Dash Control Interface unit from Lucid and I will try to install it this weekend. I didn't get any of the extra harnesses, so I will have to splice the wires into the existing harness. I can handle that.
The part that I am not 100% comfortable with yet is finding and splicing into the wire that connects to the Vehicle Speed Sensor.
Question 1: I'm assuming that it's the wire that goes from the VSS to the dash gauge assembly at connector/wire C3 (it shows it as a blue/white wire in Helms). Is my assumption correct?
Question 2: I can follow the harnessing and connector routing in Helms, but where is the easiest access the that wire? Is it at the transmission? I have access to a lift, so working around the transmission as long as I don't have to remove anything is easy.
Thanks for any help.

Looks like Lucid's web site is down, at least I can't connect to it.
Do not use the wire at the transmission or at the ECM - they are before the signal is processed by the instrument panel and will not work.
The wire you want is behind the passenger dash cover, and is easy to get to. The cover is attached with 6 spring clips, and behind it is the convertible top module. The vehicle speed wire is the white wire with a black stripe. The photo below shows crimping the T-tap connector on the wire.

I was able to download the instructions from the site. Thanks.
One more question. I was thinking about adding an ON/OFF switch to the wire that feeds the speed into to the DCI unit just so I can disable the sound adjustment. My question is, is there any way I can damage the DCI unit if I turn the switch On and Off while at speed?
