possible to attatch speakers to seats?

It's certainly possible...however, I think the question should be is it FEASIBLE. The headrests are small, so you would have to put the speakers far away from the headrest itself to get even reasonable imaging (which will make the headrests look like they have wings).
If you decide to go this route, you might try placing the tweeters in the side of the opposite headrest facing the other side (i.e., the driver-side tweeter in the lefthand side of the passenger's headrest facing towards the driver, and vice versa for the other). Sink them in the same fashion as the A-pillar mounts shown previously, where they were placed INSIDE the pillar with a hexagonal set of holes for the sound to escape...no wings, imaging is a bit better, but still not perfect.
Hmmm, now that I think about it, I would love the opportunity to try this on someone's machine...

why can't we mount them in the trim on the bulkhead just above the driver's left shoulder and the passenger's right shoulder? is there any space behind the trim there. it looks like there's a few inches of open space that clears the headrest, even when all the way reclined.
does anyone know what i'm talking about?

SC,
That would certainly separate both sides enugh, not just the one on the inner side of the car. I think the issue will be having the speakers behind your head, though, instead of in front or in line with your ears. I suppose it can't make any more difference than having the speakers below our feet...

I have diamond m5 speakers with the tweeters in front of the door handles powered by an xtant 202m (50x2). The crossovers have outputs for rear fill speakers for which diamond recommeds using their coaxials or factory speakers with. I was planning on trying them out with the honda speakers behind the seats just to see how it sounds. I don't expect to hear anything great since most sound will be blocked by the seats. However having some sound coming from behind may give the feeling that the quality sound is coming from all around instead of just from up front.
