Default polk ex3560 components!

well i just installed these today after 3 grueling hours of work. my first impressions werent that impressive to be honest. i have a sony cdx-m850 installed as well which i put in yesterday. but i guess i'm spoiled from my previous civic which had a lot more power. well regardless heres a few questions..

with the speaker basket which obviously was too small for the polk midwoofer, what did you guys do? i simply just screwed it on creating a gap but it doestn seem to be much of a problem.

2nd, how did u guys manage to fit the tweeter in? all i did was pop the actual tweeter out from the plastic casing and used the stock tweeter mounts to screw it on tight. as far as wires, i just crimped them together and i even had to extend the input wire by using some of the polk speaker wire that was too long anyway.

this is my first job.. and as far as everything looks. everythign seems solid and sturdy. the sound is good as well and i'm sure it'll sound even better with my speaker amp and rear speakers when i get em. thanks for the input!

I don't have polk component but I have MB Quartz component and experienced same problem. 6.5s are too big for the door. If I remember correctly, mine had .25" or .5" gap. My installer made a wood "ring" that fit between the gap. He also Dynamat the door so no rattle. 1" tweeter fit just fine in the stock location. (I have '03)

I hope taht help.

I very happy with how the Polks sound in the S.

I cut the baskets out in back so the 6.5 speakers fit and installed the tweeters so they are pointing toward the seats.

I have 150 watts going to each pair and the sound is fantastic.

How do you like the ex3560's overall? How do they sound? I was looking at a set of these myself.

Thanks Andrew. The Polks sound incredible especially with the hardtop on. I needed some cash and had to sell mine, but I'm sure my ears are glad it 's gone.

The polks are a nice set of components and tey arent that expensive at that. My first impression were kind of dull, maybe because i put the top down and attempted to test the sounds. and also i was pretty spoiled from my previous setup in my civic. but all in all, its enough sound to carry thorughout the car especial wtih the top up.
