Default OEM radio wiring

Hi: What is the function of the wire that went to pin 19 on the factory radio on my 03. When I installed the Alpine 7894 two weeks ago it was not carried on the addaptor harness that I didn't use and so is tied back in the car. The new radio is solderd in without using the addaptor and is running OK but I can't help wondering what that wire was for. I tried to install the IR interface from LUCID today and wonder if that the extra wire was some kind of a ringer involved with the dash control. The LUCID furnished SWI-X isn't allowing me to program itself.

According to the Helm manual circuit diagram for the stereo system, pin 19 does nothing. It's empty.

Yes on another thread it is listed as no connection but I definately found a wire there. I wish I wrote down the color combination it was but I didn't think of it at the time.

On page 22-89 of the Helms manual for 2000-2003, wire 19 is listed as only on '02-'03 models. It's a red wire and goes to the "Dash lights brightness controller". Probably for varying the display brightness.

Sorry, I was quoting for MY '00 and '01 Helm manual. Here, pin 9 is for "lights-on signal". Nothing for pin 19.
