I have a european disk which is black 2.07, but looking at the files on it may only be an upgrade? The other is a black US disk 1.09J which I think is the original version for US models.

Just an update, I checked the wiring on the DVD unit again. It appears it uses a 20 way and a 12 way conector. additionally there is a 16 way connector that is not used. It appears that the JDM unit is WAY different to the US equivalent! I know there were options such as TV for the JDM version, so maybe without an original diagram this is going to V difficult to sort out.

Just on the DVD disc front, has anyone come across a JDM disk for this unit? I know its a long shot but it just may be I need the rightDVD to get this to work?

I know this all seems a lot of effort for little gain... but I have spent so much time trying to get this working (research mostly..), I would like to see something

Thanks guys

Anyone have an answer to the switch on question? I.e if you take out the dvd from the drive, and turn on the ignition, do you get anything on the display (splash screen)?

Thanks guys
