Occupant detection sensor? Any ideas?
I was looking around at the options for heated seats for my S, and I was running across statements that the passenger side seating has sensors fro occupancy detection. Anyone here know if there is any truth to this, I have learned that not everyone can tell the difference between an S2k and an accord, one of my personal favorites being the company I saw offering exhausts for the 3.5 liter version, MY97. That being said.....any one have any input?

There are no sensors at all on the passenger seat of an S2000. (Well, mabey on the 2006 for the airbag, but I doubt it.)
I have removed the seats several times, from mutiple S2000s. There is a wire on the driver's side for the seatbelt warning light and that's it.
You shouldn't need occupancy sensors, any of the aftermarket seat heaters I have seen come with simple switches. One for each side. I have never seen an S2000 specific kit for seat heaters.

. Only real occupancy sensor is the seatbelt detection on the driver's side. You could probably wire something up to turn on when the seatbelt is plugged in (with a master override for the summer months). I think it would just be a grounding relay (as I think that is how the seat belt detector works......grounding detection).
Other than that.....maybe a proximity detector off of an alarm system.
