Need alarm asap....
well recently i had my bike stolen from me (gixxer 1k). makes me realize that theft is real and in my area.
it has opened my eyes and i need to invest in an alarm asap.
my limit is $800 if possible and i need to have a GPS system to monitor it or know where it is if it disappears.
OR should i get a decently priced alarm and then a low jack as well?
Please post your opinions and suggestions. I keep being told lowjack is the savior to car theft.

Lowjack is great as long as you have Lowjack antennas in your area. There isn't a single Lowjack tower in NM, where I live. On the other hand, gps-based tracking devices such as those that are used by DEI (Viper, etc.) function nationwide.
Forgot to mention, if you do have Lowjack in your area... police are supposed to have locator devices on hand that assist in recovery. I do not believe gps-based tracking systems have this feature.

2-way alarms, like the one I have, I'm not crazy about. I got mine (Viper 2-way with no display) about 4-5 years ago... maybe they have improved since then? But the range on mine is total crap. And the remote eats batteries at a ridiculous pace.

the new vipers have a 1 mile range (have not tested to a mile but does work a good range) then for a tracking device, viper offers one, and there are many others, i would stay away from low jack, as the police are the only ones who can track your car, but a gps unit can be tracked by anyone from a computer, there is a monthly fee for monitiring, many commercial vechiles now use this to find there trucks and check there speeds.

Sorry to hear that.
Lojack and viper or clifford alarm. Alarm price depend on your local shop and sensors you want to add. I personally will go for clifford, just cuz their remote looks pretyt
