Wow, thanks for all the feedback so far. Very informative. My price budget for components are between $400-$500. I was also considering Focal Components. Heard nothing but good things about their products. For the Focal 165KP2, are there any modifications that need to be done to the speaker baskets or are they a direct drop in?

SCA S2K, I don't suppose your screen name suggests that you're in Southern California, does it? If so, I would love to hear these speaker setups in person.

SCA is for Sounds Car Audio. We are a mid-top end store in Milwaukee.
The 165K2P's are $1100. I have full pics of them going into my car that I was planning on posting some time this week.
The 165V2's are in your price range. Go to Focal's website and
look in the dealer locator for Authorized dealers in your area. Call a
couple stores and see if any of them have the Focal 6ft display. This is a display sent direct from Focal with 4 sets of seperates and 3 13" subs at the bottom. If you want to hear the Focals how they should sound to make your decision this is your best option.

hrm.... i'd argue that price a bit. you should be able to get the 165 K2P's for a bit less than that if you work on a deal w/ the salesman. do they not sell the 165 KP's anymore? they should be much lower in price.

regarding the Access components -- i personally found them to be a bit muddy. not horrible by any means, but if you can get the 165V2's, do it.

and yes, if you like a bright sound -- Infinity Kappas over the MBQuarts anyday.

Just to throw something into the mix, take a look at the Polk Audio SR6500, they are in the same price range and the Focal's and IMO they sounded much better. I have had them for about 4 weeks now and I def give them

Also can I ask why you would use the W6 with the 5002 amp, If you want to stay with Rockford amps, I would suggest spending about the same money and getting the Punch45 and it will produce better power. Otherwise the JL 450/4 (which is what I am using with my 10W6) will run the entire sytem and provide alot of power.

Dont forget to post up some pics when you are done!

the KP's are around $700.
the K2P's are $1100. The cheapest I have ever had
them on sale for was $999.
Wherever you go to hear these speakers make
sure they are in a good display. You can make the best
speakers sound like garbage if they are just tossed on a display board.
If you heard mud, they were not setup properly.
