Default mounting large amp underneath parcel shelf

Hi All,

I have a rather large 4 channel amp that i want to mount (25.5 inches long) in the boot. I have viewed some other pics and stuff and have realised it will have to go in one of the following places;

1.) underneath the parcel shelf. I could remove the spare tyre and use the space between the fuel tank and plastic parcel shelf. Making the MDF shelf for the amp to screw into is easy but what am i going to anchor the mdf/amp onto in that space? I understand the fuel tank is the bit that protrudes/sticks up in the middle. I'm thinking maybe i'll unbolt the rear strut bar and mount some sort of metal bracket to that and then screw that into the mdf. has anyone managed to do this before? Would appreicate any tips.

2) Have the amp screwed into mdf mounted vertically at the back of the boot. This would look good however would screw me if i needed to get in behind the shelf at the spare wheel. The amp is fairly weighty so would need to be anchored in securely. Again - what do i anchor the mdf to?

Would appreciate any tips, even perhaps where not to screw self tapping screws into so i know where to avoid in the boot area.

cheers!

Alot of people (including myself) use one of PAS2Knut's amp racks. He has one that goes in the spare tire area and one that is a wall. I have put links to both below. They are great becuase they are both presure fit and require no mounting screws/bolts.

Yes, I have both installed in my car right now. No worries dealing with Jim either. He is a great guy!
