A MSRP of 2100 is not all that bad. A comparable competition HU might cost around 500 retail and an external MP3 unit like a Phatbox is around 800. With the oel display, HD, and built in CDDB, this unit is going to be pricey, but, I would expect to see this unit retail for around 1700.

500 for the H/U
800 for the Phatbox
-----
1300 that is still way short of 2100.

I never said it wasn't loaded with features, just expensive.

Darn it. I've been hearing about Pioneer coming out with a hard drive based MP3 player, but what a disappointment. This isn't a hard drive based MP3 player. It only plays MP3 files from the CD.

Phatbox+Kenwood headunit is a better deal.

Once all this stuff hits the streets I will have it for sale for those that want it. I am sure it will be a hard piece to get a hold of.

Ditto, I've got a $230 Sony, and with S2kman's dash control adapter, I'm quite pleased with it. I'll keep 10 CD's under the seat and save $1500.

Also cheaper if anything ever (god forbid) gets stolen .

BTW what is S2kman's dash control adapter? Is it the sony joystick installed onto the left hand panel?
