Monster Boycott
I will never again buy a product from Monster Cable Products, Inc. If you haven't heard they have decided, no doubt at the advice of overzelous trademark attornies, to sue over 250+ business and people for including the English word 'monster' in their company or product names:
Disney - Monsters, Inc.
Discovery Channel - Monster Garage
Monster.com
and many others. Why? Because they dropped "cable" from their logo and name. I don't believe the public should allow a trademark to be enforced for a company that retroactively uses a trademark from 1978 to rename themselves to the name of another company (Monster.com) and expect the market to roll over and take it. I won't. My dollars, or lack of dollars, in a small way are going to hurt their bottom line. They no longer deserve, in my eyes, to be a leader in the market.
Here is an email I wrote to them:

I'll see if I can track down the names and addresses of the executives of the company so you can send them letters, if you'd like.
Note: Monster Cable Products, Inc. is already being rewarded for these suits. Make a quick check to the bottom of the monster.com homepage. Disney settled as well...

Just a note to let you know that you have lost me as a long time customer due to your recent string of despicable litigation. I will never again buy your company's products or patronize it any way. I had always regarded your company as a market leader with premium products, but I no longer see it that way. Your company now projects an image of a selfish, greedy company that has no regard for hurting other businesses and people. Wasting the public's money with more than 250 suits in courts around the country is the last thing this country needs right now. No brand, especially one as trivial as a common English noun, deserves that kind of protection by the public.

I also will join in the Boycott. I sent them a message last night as well. I'll keep mine to myself for now. I then called DAXX and started the ball rolling toward them hopefully sponsoring the cabling in my car... because I really don'r fell like dropping another $800 bucks on cabling and power leads and what not. But I will if I have to. However I hope DAXX and I can come to a nice agreement by the end of the month. Crosses figures
I'm not quite sure what to do with the hundreds of dollars worth of stuff I have from them now though... I have the Ultimate Level RCA's they cost me about $500 bucks just for the RCA's let alone all the other stuff, like the battery terminals and the fuse blocks and other power related things..umm.... what to do?

A few years ago, Ralph Lauren tried to sue the some polo (the sport) association because it has the same name as his brand Polo. Nevermind that polo (the sport) exists way before Ralph was in diapers.

I've never bought Monster cable products. The marketing BS that they push combined with the prices they charge is downright unethical.
EMI shielded fiber-optic....I don't think so.
