modrify Sony-DCI and CDX-M850MP ?
I just upgraded my HU to the CDX-M850MP and am having some problems with the Sony DCI I ordered from lucid. Basically, the dash controls work, but they do not perform the functions they are supposed to. Volume up makes the volume go down, volume down changes the mode, weird stuff like that. The mute button works perfectly, but the rest of the dash controls do not work as expected.
Again, this is the hard-wired Sony specific DCI, not the IR version.
Anyone have any thoughts on what might be wrong before I get in touch with the folks at Lucid?

OOOPS! Sounds like you may have a bad one.
Do you have the SCV (speed-controlled volume) connected? If you do, and it adjusts volume up and down correctly, then you definitely have a bad DCI.
If you don't have SCV connected or it does not work right, verify the plug is inserted all the way into the back of the head unit. That's the only other thing I can think of (besides a bad DCI) that may cause erratic operation.
Lucid will definitely send you a replacement, but he may be low on stock right now, which is because I sometimes can't make 'em fast enough.

SCV is not connected. I will verify that the plug and all other connections are secure. If that does not help, I will get in touch with Lucid.
Thanks!

I just received the 2.6 version of the DCI in the mail yesterday, and plan on installing it tonight. I installed the M850MP last week, and ordered the DCI on ruexp67's advice. Installation of the HU was a snap. It took about 15 minutes. Thanks ruexp67.
