Cool Modifry ECT EMS Fix

hey there guys, I just installed a Modifry Engine Coolant Temperature gauge fix on my AP1 with my EMS. I know the module works, because it is blinking, as it is supposed to, however, it reads that I am at 3 bars even when the engine is not on.. I also just replaced my OEM radiator fans for a set of FAL fans, but I don't believe that I damaged my ECT sensor during the process because as I was bleeding the coolant, the fans turned on after the coolant reached a certain temperature. I don't think it is the "ground loop" issue because it is grounded to a bolt where there are no other grounds.. my friend advised me that it may be due to the wire resistance due to splicing the wiring and not soldering the connection which may disrupt the signal (voltage drop). I know that Modifry frequently visits this section of the board and any help would be greatly appreciated.

anyone? I'm going to check the current on the tapped wire later to see if it is running a consistent voltage (may cause the consistent 3 bar display)

I could have sworn I replied to this - maybe my connection dropped just as I clicked "post it'.

Check out the help page on my web site for some simple things to check. If that doesn't lead you to a resolution you may have to break out the meter, as the key to troubleshooting this product is to measure the ECT voltage. There is information on this page that describes the process and also provides a lot of information on how the ECT module works and how to test your installation.
