Lucid's sub enclosure??
Has anyone purchased and installed a Lucid Sub Enclosure?
Is it truly and enclosure like the JL stealth box and install like one?
What's the enclosure volume / Materials of construction?
Given that you drop install the sub, where can I get grills to protect the sub?
What have others done to protect the Sub from things being put in the trunk and damaging it?
Anyone ever compare this to the JL Stealthbox (i.e. same speaker in both)
Are you pleased with it?
The Sub is my last decision so responses are greatly appreciated.
I'm deciding between the WLaurant and the Lucid enclosures. I'm leaning toward the Lucid because I can install a JL 10W3v2 and can carry my golf clubs with this without worrying. Also I can get the JL 10" sub for the same price or less than the 8". I really like the JL Stealth box for ease of installation but can not see paying approximately 2x the cost of the parts
The rest of the system will be
Alpine 9815 w/ Lucid dash controller.
JL 300/4 amp
JL xr650-csi components
Lucid Rears (existing)
Last question: the JL amp will run 2 channels at 75 W (driving the fronts) + 1 bridged at 150w ... is this sufficient for the 10W3V2

you might want to check your depth on that sub, as Lucid's box can only handle a mounting depth of around 4 3/4" to 5" (check his site for exact numbers)... you'll be surprised at how few 10" subs can fit in a 5" depth requirement.
Lucid's box isn't like the Stealthbox, since it sits on top of the tools (the Stealthbox removes the tools), and it doesn't have the stealth cover.
Lucid gives the enclosure volume for his sub on his site... it's fiberglass w/ a 1/2" reinforced MDF top.
William had sent one of his enclosures to someone for a test comparison vs a Stealthbox... it is a great thread b/c it also included William's tests on a variety of subs in his enclosure, their output, and relative sound quality....
