Lucid HU removal / install guide down
Hey gang went to get some step by step instructions for my AP1 head unit upgrade and the links in the FAQ to the Lucid step-by-step guide are down.
Any other good step by step guides out?

its really easy. Once you have the radio door/vent surrounding off, there are 4 screws and the whole unit slides right out.
Then you unplug the stock radio, plug the hopefully pre-soldered and shrink wrapped (to the new HU wire harness) aftermarket adapter to the stock harness.
Attach the brackets from the stock HU to the new HU and plug in the wire harness, rca's (if you are using amps), antenna, etc.
Make sure you hook the power antenna lead up. Although you do not have a telescoping antenna, it is powered.
make sure the brackets make the new HU sit back enough to close door and is angled correctly.
Screw back in, replace radio door and vent surrounding.
Turn up the radio and fine tune to your liking.
Shouldnt take you more than 30 minutes

You will have to do the crimping yourself. Match up the wires and crimp them together.
There are no pre soldered harness, because you have will have to match up the harness from your new headunit to the honda harness you buy.
Once that is complete, its plug and play into the factory harness and your new headunit.

there are makers of plug & play harnesses, see:

be aware if you intend to use a DCI to retain your dash controls, these
likely won't have the necessary wires. I believe Modifry makes a plug & play
harness for Alpine and maybe others which includes the elusive "dash" and
"mute" wires to go with his DCI.

yeah, I have a DCI in the mail, didn't see a plug and play harness on the modifry site when I put my order in for the DCI, and looks like Lucid is down... guess I'll have to break out the old soldering iron and heat shrink

Modifry does sell the plug adaptor - I just installed one on an 04 S2000. You will have to make the connections ( crimped or soldered) to make this work. The DCI has an installation procedure.
