Know anything about the Kenwood Excelon 6.5" Xr601 speakers?

EDIT: I should have mentioned in the topic that these are the ones offered from Lucid Automotive.
I apologize if this is the incorrect forum. I didn't see an electronics forum; if there is one, can a moderator move this for me? TIA.
Well, I'm interested in purchasing a set of these from Lucid, but had just a couple of questions. (I tried emailing Lucid, but the email address on their web site is not deliverable?)
Do these speakers drop right into the existing holes? Or do you need to use the 6.5" Door Speaker Adapter Kit from Lucid? Would it be appropriate to drive these with the stock head unit, or are these speakers designed to be used with an amplifier? Thanks for any info you can provide.

I have Kenwood xr600 speakers. They were my first audio upgrade and well worth it. They are drop in as far as screw holes. You do have to tap into the Honda wires (or rewire) since the Honda speaker plugs only fit Honda speakers. That was easy to do with taps, wires, speaker connectors.
The stock '01 head had no trouble driving the xr600 speakers. It was a huge improvement.
However, I've since upgraded with:
Lucid rear speakers,
an Alpine CDA-7876 head (27 watts x 4 rms; "60 watts x 4" Alpine rating)
a JL Audio Stealthbox and a JL Audio 250 watt amp for the Stealthbox.
Did I mention I'd never upgraded a car audio before?

You've come pretty far with your S2000's sound system. I used to have the big systems in my previous cars, but I think with the S2000, I'm just going to keep her light and tight. Thanks for the reply, I think I'm going to go ahead and get these.
