Key fob no longer works
Hey,
I've had my USDM MY 00' S2k for about a year now and the key fobs worked perfectly,
I do have the "Factory" Alarm the red LED near the hand brake, and Valet switch under the steering wheel.
After installing speakers and amp in my s2k I've noticed that my Key fob no longer work. Trunk and panic do not work either.
I did partially unplug this cable but didn't un plug it completely. I have checked the connector for loose connections or wire breakage and none were broken/split.
Things I have done:
Thanks in advance for the help.

Things I have done:
- Unplug battery ~15 minutes - Did not fix
- Check/replace all fuses related (5, 15, 26) - Did not fix
- Tried reprogramming the remotes cant get them to reprogram with fresh batteries.
Thanks in advance for the help.

Frustrating when simple stuff doesn't work.
Be interesting to see what these non-working remotes look like. I suspect neither is OEM. As well as what model year your car is and what market.
Replaced the battery? Sometimes that simple. But with neither remote working it's probably the aftermarket security system.
What market was this car produced for, UK? Doesn't seen like a US car as none ever had a factory "alarmed" red "security" LED anywhere in the car which makes this is an aftermarket, dealer, or importer system. The owner's manuals (plural) don't mention a security system other than the horn will sound if the car is opened without being unlocked. And since this afternoon has been boring I looked myself in my car and there isn't a sight of a "security indicator."

Spoiler
^what my Keys look like. The OEM one (lower) is the one I got when I purchased the car, the Upper aftermarket one is the one I have been using for the past year. Both worked when before I embarked on this Amp/speaker adventure and now they both don't work.
Sorry Ill add my Location to the OP. The car is a USDM car. MY 00'
The Alarm I speak of seems to be a Dealer installed security system that has a "Valet" button below the steering wheel and a Red LED near the hand brake.
It is installed under the Drivers seat. Seems like the Kit part number is

My '06 has an alarm led in dash. Meant for optional dealer installed alarm. Modifry sold a kit to fake that led into blinking.
A simple resistor and prefabbed cable, you could just tap into existing wiring with supplied vampire tap (no harm to stock wiring).
When car shut off, stock dash alarm led blinks. Fakes people into thinking you have an alarm. Some minor deterrent without any of the hassle of an actual alarm. A couple bucks and a little effort, if it makes one person think twice it was well worth it.
I mention this only to say there is a stock alarm led in our dash.

Both your keys look like my pair of known genuine (factory) keys.
Glancing thru the catalog numbers part 08E51-S84-100 is a legit part number for a 2004-2009 Honda car -- maybe generic Honda maybe all years, not S2000 specific.
.
Hopefully you can find some hints in the manual: Security_System_Instructions_08E51-S84-100
(Never seen that manual before 10 minutes ago.)

PS: I just spent 20 minutes looking for the alarm LED on my 2006 instrument panel and in the owner's manual. No joy.

Note, easy to test fuses without removing them. They have test points on top. Area where you can place meter probes.
Set meter to diode setting, so it beeps when there is continuity. Now just iterate down the row of fuses, checking each. Tone, next, tone, next, no tone, bad fuse.

Update:
Removed the seat to get access to the security system under the seat to see if the connection is loose and also to clean the connection with some QD spray.
^looks like I got the P/N wrong in an earlier post ill fix that the correct P/N: 08E51-S84-1M002
Cleaned the connection re plugged everything Nothing.... well decided to go back to the basics
Re checked all the leads and found out that the connection that goes to the Keyless system was unplugged....
Plugged it back in made sure it clicked and now the fobs work and everything is good.
Thanks for all the suggestions I did replace a lot of fuses that looked pretty old so yay? Also cleaned a few connectors.
