Just a rant about removing stereo theft code....
Am I the only one angry because I had to go through the trouble of pulling my whole door assembly off? I realize it's not the hardest thing to do.. however after doing so to get to my S/N for my stereo theft code, I called my local dealer and gavehim a serial... he read me the code without asking any questions...
This just leads one to wonder... WHY BOTHER?
I mean it's a code... so if some hoodlum steals your stereo (cuz THAT"S what they're after if they break into an S) just calls the dealership and gets the code...
Just ridiculous... wish my car didn't come with a code....
However after resetting my ecu and putting in my code, my radio plays fine and my car runs like a champ with my new Intake

I'm actually pondering writing a long letter.
On the other hand had I had to run out there and prove that the car is mine etc. I'd have been irritated too
Principle of the thing I guess.... letter it is

it's kind of funny - most of the rants I've seen were people complaining
that it's too HARD to get the code! The value of a used oem radio is
around $50 - pros aren't going to steal it when they could take seats,
airbags, etc, and crackheads aren't going to bother calling a dealer.
Even if word gets out that your dealer is easy with codes, I don't think
you'll see a big jump in thefts.

Steal my radio, please! It would be the kick in the ass I need to upgrade it. As it is, I'm stuck in planning mode.
It is unusual to see post complaining it was too easy to get the code. It's usually the other way around. Anti-theft codes are a minor incovenience. As are removable face plates. C'mon. How many of us remove the face plate every time we get out of the car?
It reminds me of the old adage: "Locks are for honest people." A good and determined thief can steal anything.

BTW, I happen to like my stock head unit and rear panel speakers. In the over 5 years I've been listening to it, I've never had a moment that I wish I had anything "better".

That guy should be hung by his foreskin till it rips his scrotum off. You should write a strong letter to Honda USA to make this dealer known to them.
