Default Just got the nuvi 660...

....and all I can say is, WHERE HAVE YOU BEEN ALL MY LIFE?????

Far superior than the POS Magellan Roadmate I've been using for the last couple of years. It's got a lot of features on it, unfortunately some that I probably will never use. I was considering the 350, 360 ot 660, the bluetooth was a plus, so that eliminated the 350, and I wanted the larger screen and traffic info, so that pushed the 660 ahead of the pack. I'm sure the pricing would eventually go down, but I needed a new nav unit asap, so I jumped the gun. I do have a bunch of electronics hookups, so I didn't exactly pay retail for it (a little under $800). I asked a few friends to get it for me, and the first person to get it available got it for me. Only thing is, I don't want to say anything to the people that I am still waiting for them to get it for me, they are also my customers, wouldn't want to ruin the relationship that I have with them. With that said, I might score another one, so I'll most likely buy it too and probably sell it or something, if not just tell them I'm holding off for now.Overall,

Ed

Well, I won't be hardwiring it into any car, as I drive many cars and use it mostly for it's portability. If you want something smaller, the 350/360 is the way to go. I just got it today and it's been raining all day, so I was nowhere close to being in the S2k, so I'll try to get some pics tomorrow if I take it to work with me.

Shoof, Please let us know how well the Traffic Service works in NYC.
I'm looking at the Garmin C550 or the Nuvi660, both have the traffic built in.
Price is steep, but time is money when sitting in New York Traffic!
Thanks,

Did you mount the Nuvi on the dash or window?
and what side, your right or Left.

Photos would be great

I drove my Scion xB to work today. I mounted it to the windshield via suction mount. It was mounted on the left side of the steering wheel, just about above the registration tag on the windshield.

The traffic service didn't say much to me because I took the streets to work today with a little highway driving towards the end of the drive, but there was no traffic to report.

When I put it in the S2k, I'm not sure where i'll be putting it yet. I'm going to try to find a spot that I can put it first without having to mount it, then i'll see. I haven't driven the S2k in about a week because of the bad weather, so we'll see.

I'm just about to pull the trigger on a Nuvi 660. The thing is so thin that I think I can mount it right into my visor. We'll see.

i ordered the 360 from costco today. after extensive research, i found that the best on the market are the Nuvis, TomTom One, and Garmin C2720/2730... the first 2 are compact, easy to use; the last one is full-featured and powerful but large heavy and , frankly, ugly. so just an FYI for anyone else considering a GPS

i also bought a PDA & GPS add-on. i figured i need a PDA anyways, and i can hand the easier-to-use Nuvi to my technophilic parents for xmas

ive already spotted a location: bottom of left A pillar. the only problem is routing the power cable... s2000 has jacked up 12v location!!!!

I've been using a Nuvi 350 for about 6 months and really like it. We took it on our Paris/London trip this summer and used it walking around the city - no fear of getting lost in a strange country.

So far I've been using the (not so nice) suction cup mount that came with it but will be mounting it on one of these shortly. That's the cool part about a fabric top - you can put the GPS almost anywhere.

Quick Reply: Just got the nuvi 660...
