JL sub and Kenwood amp
Hey guys I just purchased the amp and sub as stated in the titled and had a couple of questions about it...
Alright, so I went to install my old setup, which was a kenwood 600 watt amp and a JL 12w3 4 ohm DVC sub, and found out that my amp was shorted. So I went ahead and purchased the Kenwood KAC-8103D amp. As I bought this amp I thought it was time for a new sub so I purchased a 12w3v3 4 ohm SVC sub (They don't make this model in DVC). What the dealer told me was that the sub doesn't matter of the ohms - whether it be 2 ohm SVC or 4 ohm because the amp is a monoblock.
NOW when they installed my old sub to the new amp, that hit pretty good, but when they put on the new sub it didn't hit as hard... Am I just being paranoid?? or does my older sub really hit harder than the new v3???
ALSO does the 2 ohm and 4 ohm version of the subs have a difference on my amp?? Because he said it didn't, and another shop told me it did...

yea Ohms match up with the amp it's self... if a sub will play at 400 watts at 4 ohms then that's what it's based on. Now you want to find an amp that plays at 4 ohms (which everyone out there pretty much does) sooo , an amp that plays at 400 watts at 4 ohms , will push 800 watts at 2 ohms , and if it's 1 ohm stable even more.
