Anybody got one in the trunk like to share their opinion?

What amp do u power this sub? Is the box on the side or in the tool well?

Yes, I did do the search but like to get recent reviews.

I am looking to do the fiberglass thing for a box in the trunk. I worked with fiberglass before.

Thanks,
Tnt

Since know body else has responded...

I have 8w3v3 in a ported box in the spare tire well powered by a g4500. The sub sounds pretty good for being mounted in the trunk and it's a nice complement to my Focal's but at volume the bass lacks a little bit.

It might be different if I had a bigger sub or different location for the sub. My next step is to have the sub in the passenger side foot well so it fires in to the cabin and the sound wave has a chance to travel and reflect off the hard top.

I dooooo... got really lucky on craigslist.. 10w3v3-4 for $140 CAD.. brand new..

anyways.. by far the best sub i've ever had.. i've been locked on anything best buy and future shop carries because of discounts i get from friends... MTX was just ok compared to the way this sounds..

I have an Alpine MRP-M500 and it pounds it very well.. I tested Alpine Type-R.. JBL GTO and the MTX on my S2000 before finding this... I'll never look back!

We sell JL Audio and the w3 is one our more popular subs. It sounds awesome in the trunk of most cars and even in open environments, like boats. Once I go all out on audio that's what I plan on using.

As far as an amp goes, depending on what ohm it is, we pair that sub up with the Alpine m500 and get nothing but great results out of it.
