JDM Navigation Screen need advice!
Hi guys
Recently bought a JDM type V with the Honda Navigation System.
I searched the forum about whether or not I can use the screen for connecting to my head deck via a DVD player or a TV tuner but found it fruitless.
I took out the big and very heavy DVD nav out of the the boot to save some weight and to be honest I dont need the SAT NAV fuction.
Also as you might have noticed im from New Zealand so Pal is the format we use and I presume this screen made by alpine is NTSC so I think this would cause some problems too?
Here are some pictures of the unit and the harness connecting to the screen.

Screen:
Advice would be much appreciated!!

I think you can do it if you get a rear-view camera unit and connect a dvd player to the rca inputs instead of the camera. You're basically using it as an RCA to RGB converter.
You can find more info if you look through the forums at odyclub.com because the Odyssey had a very similar nav system.

Im doing a Honda nav in my S right now. Same thing you have. I need that harness your holding in the pic and no one has it LOL.
The DVD to nav converter usually plugs into the DVD unit, the 12 pin harness. I think you need that in there for it to work.
If you not using it, sell me your dvd harnesses with the antenna.
BTW is there a part number tagged on that harness your holding in the pic?

Hey Revhi
Cant see any number for the harness cos it doesnt extend out of that hole too much.
What do you mean by a DVD to Nav converter? Is there any specific model or brand for this? Are you using the Nav Box in the boot as well? I dont plan to use that heavy piece of crap thats why i'm asking

Check your dvd drive harnesses, there should be a 12 pin harness.
