Installing a Lucid DCI - Do It Yourself or Call a Professional?
I recently had a professional install two pairs of Alpine Type R component speakers and an Alpine 5 channel amp in my S, with my current OEM 02' HU. I had the installer run all wires from the amp to behind the HU in anticipation of installing an Alpine 9815 in the near future.
My question is, does the Lucid DCI just plug-in to the existing harness (do-it-yourself friendly), or will it require a professional to install. I would really like to install the HU myself, and save the $$$, but I don't want to open a can of worms!

i guess it would depend on how comfortable you are with basic electronics and a soldering iron.
you'll have to solder the DCI, Lucid's harness, and the aftermarket stereo's harnesses together. after that, you'll have to set some dip switches, do some minor wire routing, and then it is essentially just plugging things in and a few screws.
