Impendence and 5 channel amp questions.

As of now I have a 4 Channel amp pushing my Sub and components. Its hidden on top of the fuel tank. I was thinking about moving the components crossover there and put the amp behind my seat, but also deciding to add 5 1/4 speakers behind the seat later.

So whats the question or problem? You can get an amp to run everything an still leave it above the tank.

Well I've used Alpine SPX-177's in the front doors and SPX-137's behind the seats and an Alpine 10" Type-R sub and 2 Alpine amps(1-mono for the sub and 1-4 channel amp). My current set up is Alphasonik 3-ways in the doors, Alpine SPX-137's in the rear, Alpine 10" Type-R sub and an Alpine PDX-5 amp.

I ended up with a planet audio 1800.5 amp. It cost about 190 vs 350-400 for pdx-5. The pdx-5 is a much smaller amp and would have been easier to mount say under seat or above gas tank. I was forced to build a spare tire rack and mount there because the pa amp is nearly 21 inches long. Anyway im happy with it though.

Yeah its sounding good. The amp puts out plenty of power. I can make my ears hurt. Haha the idq will flex the trunk 1/2 inch which is pretty good considering its probably not getting the alleged 500 watts from the amp.
