Default Impendence and 5 channel amp questions.

So a couple of questions. So for my setup i will have components in door and behind seats and sub in trunk. I would like to use a 5 channel amp unless seriously advised otherwise. I just think it will make the install easier. Anyway so i wanna run an idq 12 in the trunk and its rated at 4 ohms. Most five channel amps list specs like this:

4 ohm: 50x4: 200x1
2 ohm: 75x4: 350x1

I relaize that they will be stable at lower impendence but i guess none of them say whether you have to run all the channels at 2 ohm or can i assume that all these subs can run 2 ohm on sub channel and 4 ohm on the others?

Which leads me to my next question. The idq is dvc 4ohm. So can i wire it parallel to amp making the sub channel run 2 ohm even though the sub voice coils are 4

Getting ready to order stuff and just wanna make sure its right.
Thanks.

that is just rating the amp will produce at each ohm load,

yes dvc 4 ohm sub wired parallel will be 2 ohm load - so amp could produce 350 watts

and if your doors and rear speakers are 4 ohm - then it could produce 4 x 50....

Get an Alpine PDX-V9 I run one in my car and its been super stable and it has plenty of power with not problems. Worth every dime. My system is loud enough that I can turn it up to the point you need ear plugs with the windows and top down driving 100mph. I run 3 ways in the doors (pic in sig) and 5 1/4's behind the seats.

SPECIFICATIONS:
RMS Power Ratings
Per channel into 4 Ohms: 100W RMS x 4 + 500W RMS (4-ohm, 14.4V <1%THD+N)
Per channel into 2 Ohms: 100W RMS x 4 + 500W RMS (2-ohm, 14.4V <1%THD+N)

Id love to get that PDX-V9 but unfortunately it is way over my budget. I know its kinda crazy to do a cheap sq system, but I am gonna try haha. I want to stick to the 200-300 dollar amp range, and preferably something thats D or AB/D. Here is the list I have come up with. Generally these amps do around 50-75 rms x 4 and 300-500 watts rms sub channel.

NVX JAD900.5

Kenwood KAC-7005Ps

Polk Audio PA D5000.5

Power Acoustik GT5-2500

MB Quart ONX4.80/500

JBL GTO-5EZ

MRX-V60 - Alpine 5-Channel

I have actually been reading up a lot on the dayton HO 10". At the price (136.00) it may be a better option than the IDQ. The IDQ 10 or 12 are far more efficient subs but also about 100 dollars more each respectively. The HO apparently can hang really well with the IDQ SQ wise and for the price I can sacrifice higher db efficiency.

The S2000 is not and SQ car..... just saying... its a convert with a high revving engine. You'll never hear a proper SQ set up unless its parked and the car is off. I've been running PDX-5 for like 5 years with Alpine SPX's in the doors(until I put the 3-way setup in) and behind the seats and a Type R sub in a tool well box setup in my car for almost 10 years. Trust me when I tell you, its loud and hell and super clear. I can drown out the engine and road noise with the top down doing 100. The amp is worth every penny.
Besides you can't cheap out on SQ setup anyway... that doesn't even make sense

Oh i agree the alpine subs will sound good for the application and also that the s is a terrible sq car....Im one of those strange people who gets ideas stuck in there head and wont relent. It is not particularly a cheap setup by any means and i already know whats gonna happen. Im gonna start adding shit then not be satisfied and eventually ill end up with 10k worth of car audio. Its more about playing with stuff to me haha. Thanks for the advice though. Btw that three way setup is hella tempting.

Im just the kid of guy that just would rather have it done right the first time... no sense changing it if its already great. No system is every perfect but over the years the only reason I changed the system up was because I had the car on the show circuit and it needed to be different every year. But the parts usually stayed the say with a few exceptions here and there over the years.

DarkKnight, I just ordered the PDX-V9... I'm curious where did you put your amp?
