Imagine I16-2
Anyone running these coaxial? If so how do they sound and have you tried in the component config? if so which sounded better? Hybrid Audio recommends running them in the coaxial config.

I actually have a set of these coming in within the next few days. I will be running them as components. From what I have read, they sound terrific as components when mounted off axis.

I have an Alpine CDA-117 head unit and a Kenwood XR-4s amplifier.
I should be installing my subwoofer tomorrow but need to create a custom box for the cabin.
In regard to the Imagine speakers, be sure to let us know how they sound as a coaxial! I should have mine Tuesday but may not install until next weekend.

I will post how they sound after breaking in. My first impressions are not as much mid bass and tweeters are not in your face loud.
I have not messed with any crossover settings yet, will over the next few days.
you will need a spacer for the speakers and they wont fit in the factory baffle. I bought my spacers on ebay weeks ago because i new i was going to need them sooner or later.
Cheers

I received my speakers yesterday and will be installing today.
You mentioned reduced bass response, have you sealed/deadened your doors?
The spacers you mentioned will be no problem. I should be able to make a set within 15 minutes or so.
My head unit features a parametric equalizer so hopefully I will be able to set up these speakers to my liking.

You can find ABS speaker adapters here:

They are more resonant than wood, so you may want to seal the speaker to adapter and adapter to door with either butyl tape or modeling clay.
