Default Ignition Beep

Hello All

Kind of weird question, but how can I get rid of that annoying beep that goes off when your key is in the ignition?

It is annoying when you are working on your car with the stereo on.

Any input would be greatly appreciated!

Thank you
Alex

Replace the metal screw in the door striker(the little 'L' shaped braket thing on the chassis side of the car) with a plastic one.

Thanks for your reply! it is really appriciated! is there any way I can get rid of it for good? I would like to still know if the door is open (dash light) I just want to get rid of the beep, beep, beep, beep....beep, beep, beep, beep.

I noticed that you say, "if you leave our lights on, your screwed". When I leave my lights on and pull my key out get out of the car, close doors..... my lights stay on.

On my old accord, the lights would turn off, once I exited the vehicle, is there some feature that is not working on my car? I always wondered why my accord had that feature, but not my s2.

Once again, thanks for your help, Mr. Kinnetic!

No I mean your headlights... You can't have it both ways without doing some fun wiring with a few relays and the like. For the quick .07 cent fix its the plastic screw, for a hightech fix you'll need a few relays and what not to make it work or you can put it on a stitch I suppose... and turn it off and on when needed.
But its the same buzzer for both the keys in the igination and the headlights being left on.

Using the plastic screw with interupt the interior lights a little bit. But if you hit the unlock button on the car remote it will still turn them on

Just give it a try with the plastic screw and test to make sure its doing what you want. Like I said its about .07 cents for the plastic screw from Loews or HD.

Will do, thanks for your input!

It would be cool, if the S did have a headlight feature like the Accord though. I drive with the HID's on all the time, I just like the way it looks. However, at times (especially when I am running late) I will forget the lights on :headbang: Do you think there is some kind of relay thingy I can put together to make this feature possible on the S?

Regards,
Alex
