AusS2000, thanks for the info also. Damn, that's where I have my amp mounted.
InsaniT, is there anyway you can ask your roommate if they have any plans in the near future to support Alpine head units? Thanks!

I am in the process of installing an Archos Studio 20 in my S. The Archos is a portable 20 gig hdd mp3 player with a USB interface. For $300 you get a virtually unlimited amount of music but the sound quality is limited by using an FM modulator to connect to stock head unit. I'm installing it in the fold down door of the glove compartment and wiring it into the stock head unit with an FM modulator and hardwiring a 12V to 9V power supply.
I'll post pictures of my install as soon as I get a chance.

JonasM,
The Archos only comes with a line out and a headphone out. I'm using an AudioVox modulator that I bought at Circuit City. I connected the wiring in my garage and the sound wasn't bad. I plan to buy the power adapter and do the final install within the next couple days, then I'll be able to report on the sound in all conditions. I almost always drive with the top down so I'm willing to sacrifice a little sound quality in order to preserve storage space and still have 200+ CDs with me all the time.

Here are a couple photos of my install. The 9V power supply is mounted behind the passenger seat.
The Archos Jukebox is mounted inside the glove compartment door.
