Default How to mount my Nuvi 200?

Just picked this neat little gizmo up at Best Buy this weekend. Gave it a few trial runs with it stuck to the windshield on the suction mount and I love the little bugger.

BUT, I want it mounted to the modifry dash piece. I see a few obstacles with this and I need your help.

First, I want the option of taking it off and storing it in the glove compartment for security reasons. The only mount bracket they have is for the windshield suction cup, and it looks like this:

It has a big bulky ABS piece on the back that would make the mount portrude very far from the Modifry Bracket.

Second, it only has the cigarette lighter charger. I want it to be hardwired, with the charging cable hidden.

What can I do?

Look at the Modifry GPS mount. It is absolutely PERFECT for an S2000. I would post a picture of mine but 1) I don't have one and 2) there are a bunch on the Modifry website.

It only fits the 300 series and up says the website. I've checked it out. I'll give him a call monday and see if it fits 200 as well.

Mount it top left by the a pillar on the window. Then you can keep your eyes on the road and your gps.

Would some 3M dual-lock fasteners have a flat spot on the back of the nuvi to hold onto? Those things are very heavy duty and will make it easily removable when you want to put it in the glove box.

when you hardwire it to the fuse box, you use a female socket anyway. just use a cigarette lighter extension cord, cut it in the middle, use only the female end. then crimp on a female spade connector and plug it into 1 of the 3 available accessory power slots. then ground the other. figure out which is +/- before powering tho...

I too picked up a Nuvi 200 and it works perfect with the Modrify mount and the Modrify nuvi ball.

yeah, exactly like you would. no different. (lol, now i remember you asking about how to wire the V1)

actually, just get a 1x2 cigarette plug splitter if the V1 is already hardwired.

I would just use modifry's gps/other things dash mount. If your worried about security reasons like me, just use some velcro on modifry's dash mount so you can just pull it on and off when you need to. Its not like you have to follow how to install the gps on the mount.
