Can anyone shed some light on how to remove the radio door from the radio surround trim piece. I have a replacement door because I have a small scratch in mine. It appears that you have to drive the two hinge pins out but that seems like it is hard to do without scratching it up. I was wondering if there was some trick to it. The Service manual is no help with this.

I can't say from experience, but I've looked at it briefly once or twice. I would think pushing the pins out is the best (possibly only) method. Hopefully someone else can be more help.

Thanks, but it does not deal with removing the door from the surround. It just shows removing the surround with the door intact.

Ask if Rick Hesel has done this when he did the gauge install in the radio door. I vaguely recall he took the door out of the surround but ....................... (Alsheimers, you know?)

After you have taken the trim and door out.
Find a small nail and force the 2x pins holding the door out
(It needs a fair effort
