Hooking up a moroso Battery disconnect
I just got a Moroso Battery Terminal Disconnect Switch
I have a parasitic drain of 50 mA that I haven't isolated yet.
(pulled all the fuses and still couldn't find it.. but that's a different problem.)
So UPS dropped it off today and thought it would be simple:
...but the stud on the Moroso is smaller than the battery terminal is so the OEM clamp won't come close to tightening - of by a good 1/4" diam.
I feel like an idiot...am I missing something?
Anybody deal with this before?

- disconnect battery
- connect moroso to battery
- connect main lead clamp to moroso
- win!

50mA is perfectly fine for a parasitic draw. Once you get to 200mA or higher is when you have to worry. What you have is a normal amount. Computers and such (anti theft, ecu, and so on) are constantly communicating so you'll never achieve 0. Unless you have a dead battery of course.
As for the Moroso, I've never been a fan of using those so I can't comment. Those are universal so I presume it wont fit every vehicle.

You are right, he 50mA IS fine... now.
... my battery drain isn't happening either.
I checked it because I was draining a new battery in on night.
three nights in a row after getting the car back from the body shop.
But after taking out every fuse and testing for drain (for every fuse it was only 50mA) and putting them back in --- now my battery is fine.
damn weird electric gremlins..
I'm leaving the moroso off since I don't need it.

Just curious, when you say "(for every fuse it was only 50mA)", do you mean each fuse was pulling 50mA? Or is that a total from all of the fuses? Because the 200mA draw is total amount allowed for the entire vehicle. (to measure, unhook negative battery cable and measure the current between the cable and post)

If you're having issues with the terminal clamp tightening on the post, you may want to try these Battery Post Shim. Had a friend who had a battery terminal clamp that was stretched and wouldn't stay on the battery, so he put these on and they work great.

...and that's where I was measuring

Yes I mentioned that this product didn't fit without Battery Post Shims or stretching out original battery post connector.

If you are getting a perfect 50 milliamps in each circuit, I would check that the ammeter works properly.
