Hooking up an iPod to HU

Hooking up an iPod to HU
I have a Panasonic HU with a wiring harness setup on the S2. I wanted to know if there was an easy/simple way to hook up my iPod to my car. Basically, I'm looking to connect directly from my iPod to an input/aux wire that's found on the rear of the HU. I don't want to go with the radio frequency adapters nor buy the bulky third party attachments. Thanks.

depending on the radio model there could be just a direct Ipod adaptor... if not, alot of panasonic radios have AUX inputs on the back. in that case you would just need 1/8th mini to 2 RCA's

^ I have a Panasonic 983U and I believe it has an AUX input in the rear as it is one of the input functions that I can select on the HU. I don't know what a 1/8th mini to 2 RCAs looks like, but do you have a link as to where I can purchase this? The 2 RCA are the two males plugs that are colored white and red correct?

I found it. In your opinion, is this the best way to connect your iPod to the HU with minimal degrading of sound quality?

if you're concerned about sound quality, you should also be sure to use a line out adapter (plugs into the dock connector on the ipod) instead of the headphone jack.
there are a variety of choices for parts here. you could get it with our without charging, 1/8" mini female or 2xRCA male--the main point being that going through the dock connector and bypassing the ipod's headphone jack will get you a cleaner signal.
