Based on information in the s2ki forums, today I installed Polk 6" speakers in the front door panels. They are a big improvement on OEM. (I am still using the OEM head unit)

I have the 4" Polk speakers ready to fit in the rear panels, but only did a look-see today (removed one of the rear panels and the radio). I have the following questions on installation of the rear speakers:

1 I found a un-used connector in the OEM loom behind the drivers (left) side panel with four terminals - any idea what it is? is it a speaker connection? Can I connect the rear speakers to this?

2 Do I need to connect the speakers directly to the head unit? If so which of the terminals are for rear speakers?

(I am aware that the dash mute button will not affect/control the rear speakers)


Please help!

You need a harness to connect the rear speakers directly to the OEM radio.

Lucid's harness is probably the easy way to go as he obviously knows what he is doing. I purchased the male and female Metra plugs from one of the install shops and am making my own but am spending a lot of time on line researcing to make sure I don't screw things up. The parts, even at retail, are cheaper of course, but unless you just love doing things yourself (it is a sickness), you should take my advice and just go with Lucid's assembly.
