Help! Radio shuts off after 20 minutes of driving
Hey,
I have a 2005 s2k, everything is stock including the audio system. When I start up the car and drive for 15-20 minutes the audio system/steering controls work fine, but after about 20 minutes the sound goes off, and flickers on and off, and then shuts off completely, but the radio is still powered on. This happens every single time. And also when I turn on/off a/c at the 20 minute mark right where the sound is shutting off it causes some interference: If the sound shuts off and i turn the a/c on, the sound will come back on for a second and then shut off again. After the car has been off for some time, the sound system works fine for anotehr 15-20 minutes.
The previous owner installed a bluetooth system for the phone, which is integrated with the audio system. This still works fine when the radio shuts off.
My only guess is that the radio might be overheating.
I'm not too audio savy, does anyone have any ideas? Should I buy a headunit and see if the same thing happens?
Appreciate any help. thanks
