which fuse are you referring too?? the one under the hood or the one in the amp??? umm i would have to check it out later if it is 1000W or 1000W RMS that you are talking about... so you think if it is 1000W the cheapest is to switch out my power wire to a 2ga???

The fuse FEEDING the power cable that feeds the amp.... this should be located less then 6" from your battery.
You need to upgrade that cable to 2guage to play it safe. you could get a fire if your drawing 1400W or 1000W from an 8 guage cable. 8 guage is good for around 200WRMS only if your over 8 feet long of a power cable.
Look at the charts I gave you... Your power cable is probbly gonna be 12 feet long aprox... so @ 1000W you need 2guage cable and a aprox a 160A fuse to protect the cable.
That 2guage power cable and new fuse holder will probbly cost you 40 bucks only... do it right.
If you have an el-cheap-o amp that says "100W" but doe snot say RMS ... you might only be drawing 700WRMS from the 1000Wamp. With that said look up in the manual and determine the RMS value of the amp with your hook-up selection (bridged???) and then determine what size of cable you need.

ok here's the spec on the amp... it's a 4 channel, bridgable amp, RMS Power at 4 Ohms 250 W x 4, RMS Power at 2 Ohms: 360 W x 4, and Frequency Response: 20 Hz - 20000 Hz.... i have it bridged using channel 1 and 2 for the sub... i believe the fuse is a 20GA??? don't know if that sounds right to you...

IF you are using a 2ohm sub...bridgeing that amp... your probbly running aprox 800W
That would require 4 guage power wire and a aprox 125A fuse.
Since I am guessing 800W RMS is the bridgeable output, and it could easily be 900W rms, I would suggest useing a 2 gauge cable to play it safe.
Dont forget to run a 4guage (2 gauge if you play it safe) from the negative terminal of the battery to chassis(ground) as well.

You will also need a new fuseholder with the correct sized fuse
