help with DRL's on US car.
So ive imported a car from the states n i need my DRL's running; dont want to pay for the DRL kit & have heard that theres a way to run power to your HID's from a blank fuse position in the fuse panel in the driver side foot area.
what Ive done is i found the blank that has 12V with the key on and nothing with the key off. wired it to the Blue wire with the red stripe behind the switch. (now i noticed that there are two blue/red wires in the connector behind the switch; i used the one that is MOSTLY blue with a red stripe in the middle; the other one is the exact opposite)
whats got me puzzled was my lights where coming ON with the key OFF and turning OFF with the key ON so it was doing the exact opposite of what i expected.
After that didn't work i disconnect the wire i ran and now the light switch doesnt do anything at all anymore, ( doesn't dim the dash lights when i put it to full headlights on and the headlights dont come on either)
I checked all the fuses, found one blown fuse labeled 'small light' replaced it (10A fuse) but still no result.
so I'm kind of stuck at this point. wondering if anyone has any similar problems or if anyone has any ideas or know anyone that might?
Thanks, Adam.

From looking at the wiring diagram, it looks to me that the headlight relays
have a constant +12v, and the headlight switch actually provides the ground.
You'll probably need to add a relay into your circuit, so when the key-in
+12v is powered, the relay connects that blue/red wire to ground.
Hope that makes sense.

Here's a really good link if you want your DRLs to perform just like OEM DRLs without great expense. http://alavigne.net/Motorsports/FeatureRep...0/DRL/index.jsp
I followed these instructions over a year ago and I've had no problems at all. I did add a switch so I could override the DRLs if I want to, and that part of the circuitry behaves a little strangely until you understand it. There's even a link to Q and A on the web page so if you have any questions they are probably answered in that section. I think I found this link on this forum somewhere so you can probably see the history if you are interested. Good luck.

I know this is old but I'm just wondering if this worked. I'm going through the same thing right now, trying to run a jumper from the fuse panel to the headlights but not sure which wire/bundle to tap into to.
