Help -- 2006 rear speakers
Hello, I am new to this board and want to ask a couple of questions about the rear speakers in MY06. I have searched through several posts and read through the FAQ (somewhat).
The 2006 model has speakers (if you want to call them speakers) built into the rollbar covers. I am attempting to add a larger speaker for listening when the top is down. I have connected a new speaker directly to the wires coming off of one of the smaller stock speakers. The new speaker sounds fine but there is no bass. There is plenty of bass in the front speakers. Does anyone know if there is a crossover that is regulating the bass in reaching the rear speakers? or, is something built directly into the stock HU? I found one post in another forum alluding to crossovers with model number ES-200EZ. I'm not sure if this means anything.
There are a total of 4 rollbar speakers where each rollbar has one right and one left balance controlled speaker. If i connect a larger speaker to the stock wires (thus removing one stock speaker from each rollbar) should I leave the other speaker connected?
I understand I should replace the HU and acquire an amp for a truly good sound experience (as described by several posts on this board). I have very little experience in such matters and would like to keep it as simple as possible, knowing that it may not be possible. I really would just like to get a little more sound from the rear when the top is down.
Thanks!
