headunit harness help

Default headunit harness help

im about to install my aftermarket HU i have the harness so my question is how do you hook the harness to the HU do i strip the wires on the harness and hook it up to the same colors/wires as the HU? there a lot of links on removing and installing but none of the actuall wire harness install. anyone have a link???

Use a harness adapter, do NOT cut the stock wiring. Connect the new HU harness to the harness adapter by matching wires by FUNCTION, then connect the harness adapter to the factory harness (it'll just plug in at that point).

but i have to strip the wires on the harness adapter right, it cant be all plug and play because there are wires sticking out from the harness adapter

Yes, you'll need to solder (preferably) or crimp all the necessary connections between the adapter and your new HU harness
