i found it taped up high to the rest of the speaker wires behind the driver's side knee plate. actually it is pretty easy to get to.

the s-pod instructions are far easier to work with than the
oem headrest speaker instructions. essentially you can run the
wires just under the center console without removing seats and
panels, etc.

I couldn't tell if the S-Pod kit comes with a wiring harness or not (but it looks like not). What I really want to get hold of is the connector that hooks into the OEM pigtail harness under the dash. Next time I'm at my dealer, I'll check with their parts dept. HPH

it doesn't come with a harness. i cut off the connector and
spliced in speaker wires tonight. got the s-pods and speakers all
installed. just need to replace the trim. it was pretty easy once
i figured out what i was doing. got the extra wire and connectors
for splicing at radio shack.

To followup one of my previous comments and close this out:

My dealer's parts department had no clue about ordering the headrest speaker kit's speaker harness separately. (This isn't to say it can't be done, however. Creative individuals in Santa Fe are artists, not Honda parts technicians.) HPH

I have a 2005 that I added S-Pod rear speakers. I used a small needle-nose pliers and inserted the soldered wire ends of my speaker wire directly into the rear channel connector. Then I folded the wires down the side of the connector and secured with a cable tie.

No cut off connector, no splicing, and the wires are onnected as securely as with a harness conector.

I finally did this, too, only with spades (filed down to size) crimped on the ends of the wires. PITA working under there, no? HPH

I'll probably do the same thing....

Is there a schematic/diagram somewhere so you know which wires are which on the rear-speaker connector? Or do you need to trace the wires back to the head unit connector??

here is the wiring set-up i was given and it worked perfectly on my 2005.

red/yellow = passenger rear (+)

brown/white = passenger rear (-)

blue/yellow = driver rear (+)

gray/red = driver rear (-)
