Thumbs down Head Unit Doesn't Clear S2000 Stereo Cover When Closed

Hi all!

I made the step and removed my factory radio yesterday. Unfortunately after fitting the new one, everytime I click the 'door' / 'cover' to close it, it presses the dial which mutes or unmutes the music! Is it possible to set the head unit further back so it doesnt make contact with the door or do I simply need to find a more 'flush' or slimmer head unit?

To show you what I mean here is a video:

I did a search but didnt really know what to search and couldnt find anything like this before.

JVC KD-DB95BT DAB Car Stereo with Bluetooth which I bought from Halfords as you can see here:

Thanks!

Hm are you sure it is mounted back as far as possible? I would make sure it isn't sticking out a little and try and adjust it back further.

Well yeah I think so, you have to mount the factory brackets onto the side of the new head unit (which is correctly attached as there is only one way they will go on) and then it bolts straight to the same factory mounting again?

You can take those side 90* brackets that bolt to your stereo, and manipulate them slightly with some pliers so that, when bolted in place, the head unit is sunken just a little bit farther into the cavity. It's what I did when I installed my stereo and now I have no problems with the door contacting the button on the head unit. Try that.

I think you could also trim the inside of the radio door where its making contact?

Ahh yeah that might be the option Sylvan! Unless there is any other way...

Afzan I thought about that, then I thought it would make me sick looking at a hacked up job every day! Haha

another option is to widen the hole in the bracket (or drill a new one) so
you can mount the bracket further forward
