Have any of you installed an XM Radio receiver and if so, which model did you select and where did you place the antenna?

i have the xm radio fm modulator from pioneer. it was $200 at sound advice and i put the antenna right in the middle of the trunk. i know some people who have put it inside the trunk but i hear you get black outs some times.

I have the Pioneer GEX-P900XM add-on (my Pioneer HU was XM ready, as are all Pioneer HUs made since the mid-90s, so a Pioneer tech told me). I placed the unit itself in the trunk in the spare tire space (along with the amp, and AUX Pioneer add-on, which I added for sending the StreetPilot III audio through the system). The SONY AN-XM100 antenna is in the small upper tray in the hidden compartment, next to the antenna for the StreetPilot GPS. Reception is perfect.

I went the way of Sirius instead of XM. For an extra 3 bucks a month, I have no commercials. Now that I have satellite radio I don't think I could live without it. Listening to regular radio is actually painful. I have a Kenwood MP-919 headunit with a kenwood satellite receiver (placed under passenger seat). The antenna is in the passenger roll cage hoop and works perfectly.b

My antenna is actually located on the dash. Works great there. I'll try and post some pics up soon.

has anybody got the SKYFI XM or something like that and if so how do you
like it? . I have looked into it a little bit and it sounds like a better use of xm since I cant drive
my car during winter and I can listen to it in my daily car and my house!!

Thanks AEW

I just had SkyFi installed. Well, you don't actually install SkyFi, you install the Vehicle module and the main unit can move to any module. I have a module at home (antenna can be nearly anywhere) and will soon have one in my RSX. Best Buy did the installation. I really love it. They didn't want to install the antenna inside, because Delphi doesn't recommend it, so I had them put it just forward of the trunk lid. Looks like it belongs there. It very rarely cuts out and then only if I'm stuck under a large bridge.
