Default has anyone tried this?

i'm curious to see if anyone here has been able to wire up their driver side stereo controls to do other functions, like open up your garage door.
my situation; i have an aftermarket HU w/remote, no modifry, but i want to be able to utilize the drivers side stereo controls.....any info would be great.
thanks.

It is definitely possible. It should be cake if you are electronics savvy but if you're not expect to pay an arm and a leg for someone to do the soldering\thinking for you.

Isn't a garage remote a button the completes a circuit to send a signal to open a garage door? You could probably take your garage remote and solder on some wires to one of the buttons on your dash controls to complete the circuit. Sounds simple, but soldering is a art.

Of course if you have lots of money (and don't mind giving some of it up) I can make a special version of the DCI that would control almost anything electrical.

I believe the correct term is "modifry the high beams".
