Default Harness for older Headunit

I found a old deck in the garage and I figured, even if its a deck from 2005, it has to be better than the stock. So in the processes of installing, since it was originally from another car, the harness obviously didnt fit. I called a few local shops to see if they had any extras laying around, but they keep telling me no.

I'm in the need of finding a harness for a Panasonic cq c3301u. Does anyone know where i might be able to find one? I dont mind loosing the dash controls, but if modifrys were to work, do i have to install that over a aftermarket harness or does that kill the need of my finding one for the headunit?

No matter what you need a harness to plug into the head unit. That is, unless you intend to solder directly to the pins on the harness connector on the head unit.

Modifry's harness is plug and play, you won't need to use the harness that you currently have. No splicing/cutting wires, and you have the option to install his dci if you choose to get your steering wheel controls back. However, after glancing at his website real quick, he only makes it for Kenwood and Alpine stereos.

What you can do is find a honda harness (i.e. on ebay for less than $5), cut up the wires of the harness you currently have, and splice the wires to connect the honda harness to the Panasonic one that you currently have. Any local electronics/stereo shop should be able to provide you wire connectors.

If you need the Panasonic harness that plugs into the headunit, Google is your friend. Here's one.
You'll also want an adapter harness to plug into the car, like this one.
Be advised that most aftermarket adapter harnesses do not have the s2000-specific dash and
mute wires, which aren't a problem if you don't have a DCI like Modifry's. If your headunit
is compatible with a DCI and you are going that way, buy Modifry's adapter harness with the
DCI as it has all the necessary wires.

Why dont you just buy a nice pioneer head unit NEW for 100$ with everything you need instead of putting a piece of junk into an S2000 that is missing parts??

because i dont find the need to invest in something i already have. althought it doesnt cost a lot to buy a new one, the old one still does the job . I've dealt with the stock headunit fine for years and just happen to find a extra laying around. anything is better than the stock one..

My unit isnt missing anything. I just dont have the correct harness. looking through many posts, it seems like we have to buy an adapter since there arent much pnp harnesses.
