GPS on a PDA?
Anyone use any of these? If so what kinda equipment are you using? I figured this will work the best for me i can get the obdII scan tool for the pda also and i can use it for work.

I have used a Handspring with a Magellan GPS Springboard module and a special mounting boom that fits the Handspring with Magellan attached.. Works pretty good.
However, I now have a Color Sony Clie that I will probably mess with.
The PDA solution is good, but it defintiely is not as good an LCD screen in your car with GPS on it!

I have the same Handspring/Magellan combo and I have been VERY impressed with its use in most situations.
Beyond being a positional device, it also serves as a decent map resource. I added a 128MB SmartMedia card, so I can carry around as many maps as I want.
I don't have the mounting boom that Flyerst describes, so I have to say that it is sometimes a little awkward to use in the car (while driving).
I really like the ability to save tracks/waypoints and easily transfer them to PC. There is a HUGE amount of free 2d and 3D map data, as well as terrain photo data, available on the web, and using public domain software you can easily overlay GPS tracks (say a drive, or a hike) onto a 2D or 3D map/photo.

I've been using an iPAQ 3955 with a Navman 3420 GPS sleeve & software. The gps package contains the sleeve, routing software for the U.S., windshield mount and lighter/power supply. It's not as easy to use as an indash navigation system but because it is portable, I've used it while travelling and it gets the job done. You are able to hear voice directions like the indash nav units.
