General audio question
Hey guys-
My pops just bought a 2003 Nissan Pathfinder LE with the BOSE stereo system. I am trying to figure out a way to hook up XM satellite radio (preferrably without changing HU's). I was wondering if anyone has worked on this vehicle / HU in the past (John, Dave, etc)? My main questio is if there is an audio aux. input on the HU somewhere? I would like to find this out before I just start pulling things out . If there is, is there anyone who would sell an RCA--->Aux Input adapter? Logjam maybe?
Any input would be appreciated.
Thanks
John

I have an 05 Xterra and there are alot of guys on the Xterra board with 03s who want aux inputs. I don't think the stereo selection between Xterras and Pathfinders were very different, with the exception that the upgraded stereos in the Xterra was Rockford Fosgate, and in the Pathfinder it was Bose.
Anyhow, the Bose stereo in 2003 was sat radio ready. If you want an aux input instead, you can buy one of these:
http://www.logjamelectronics.com/pacaainis.html
It plugs into the back of the factory radio and gives you two aux inputs, selectable via the radio preset button. It is compatible with 2003 Pathfinders. I bought one of these for my truck and it works great. I have one of the aux inputs feeding from my Delphi SkyFi II XM radio and the other is running to the center console, where I can plug in my Ipod.

edit: I just noticed that these are out of stock, but you can usually find a few vendors for the item on Ebay. just look for PAC AAI-NIS.

Thank you much.....exactly what I was looking for. I called our local Nissan dealer, and the Parts Manager said in 03 sat radio was not an option. We will see. I have not taken a look at the HU yet to see if it was an option.....just posting to gather some info, incase one of you guys had a Pathfinder as a second vehicle.
Thanks a TON!

that's very weird. They told you it was not an option? I don't have a pathfinder--only an Xterra--and if Nissan says it wasn't an option, then you might be stuck. The info on the PAC AAI-NIS says it is compatible with 03 Pathfinders, and if it is, then it would only have been compatible with the radio that had a satellite (or maybe 6 disc changer?) option. This would have been the upgraded stereo (Bose). Maybe it has a 6 disc changer option, and that's the port that the PAC AAI-NIS can plug into.
After all this, there's probably no way to tell without taking apart the dash. But if it's anything like my Xterra, that's fairly easy to do.
EDIT:
Just found this post on the Xterra board:
http://www.xterraownersclub.com/ubb/ultima...t=001133#000000
This says that Sat radio was indeed an option in a 2003 Pathfinder. Dunno who's right on this one...?
