Four Channel Amplifier - 8 speakers

Four Channel Amplifier - 8 speakers
Confused about how a four channel amp (specifically the Alpine Power Pack) handles the eight speakers in our cars. I'm assuming two of the speakers won't be powered by the amp...but which two? Or is it that there are two speakers per channel?

There's only one set of speakers in the car, one in each door. Depending on the year of your car they might also have tweeters with them.
Each channel in an amplifier is for one speaker, there are more complicated configurations you can achieve, though.

to elaborate:
except in certain audiophile installations, the woofer and tweeter on each side are usually driven off the
same channel.
If you have a late car with the roll-bar mounted rear speakers, the driver's and passenger's left speakers
are driven off the same channel, and the two right speakers are driven off the other rear channel.
