Default Final Car Audio Upgrade Wiring Questions

Hey guys!

I finally got all my components(see my signature) in place and before installing them, i decided to plan out wiring a bit.
Here is the rudimentary wiring diagram:

AMP -> (Remote Turnon Wire) -> HeadUnit
AMP -> (4-channel RCA) -> Head Unit
AMP -> (Power Wire) -> Fuse -> Battery
AMP -> (Ground Wire) -> chasis
AMP -> (Spkr Wire) -> Right Speaker
AMP -> (Spkr Wire) -> Left Speaker
AMP -> (Spkr Wire Bridged???) -> Subwoofer

Question 1: The Boston Acoustics Pro60 came with a set of crossovers. What is the function of these crossovers? Do I need them if the Amp already has crossovers?

Question 2: How are BA Pro60 tweeters connected to the speakers and to the amp?

Question 3. With my 4ohm-stable amp and a sub with dual 2-ohm coils, I will have my sub connected in series, but how do I connect it to the amp? How do i bridge rear channel speaker wires to go from the Amp to the Sub?

Please help out a car stereo novice

amp--->crossover---->midrange driver and tweeter

The crossover splits the signal from the amp so that the mid and the tweeter receive the correct frequencies.

Depending on which amp you're using, the amp usually goes into "bridged" mode by itself when you bridge the rear channels. Run the sub wiring so the two voice coils are wired in series like you said. Then take the (+) and (-) speaker wires coming from the sub and connect them like so:

channel 3 (+)--sub (+)
channel 3 (-)--not used
channel 4 (+)--not used
channel 4 (-)--sub (-)

P.S., this info is all covered in the manual for the amp and the manual for the Boston Acoustics, it would be a good idea for you to re-read all that stuff before you hook it up. Even the amp itself has a picture below the speaker terminals with the word "bridged", did you even look at the amp yet?

Thanks for your help. To my surprise, the manual for Boston Acoustics consists of diagrams only which are great if you know what youre doing and kind of cumbersome when youre just starting up. But what you said makes absolute sense.

P.S. I confess, I didnt study the amp up close just read through the manual.
