factory alarm issue
i have a 2002 suzuka with the factory alarm installed. it has never given me any problems till just recently it decided not to lock when i try to lock it using the remote. it will unlock and the truck will pop with the remote though. the remote's battery is fine too. im not very familiar with alarms in general so any and all advice would be helpful. thanks everyone!

Try these:
1. From outside the car with both doors unlocked, put the key into the driver's door and turn it towards the front of the car (counter-clockwise). The passenger door should lock.
2. From inside the car with both doors unlocked, manually lock the drivers door. The passenger door should lock.
If the above tests are successful chances are the keyless entry module is OK.
3. The keyless entry module will NOT lock the doors if a door is open or if it thinks a door is open. Test your door switches to be sure they properly turn on the overhead light when either door is open and that the overhead light turns off when both doors are closed.

i went out and checked it and both of the tests you stated above worked just fine. door switches worked just fine. doors will still not lock by remote though but once every blue moon.

its your door actuator. mine is doing the same thing. when i arm my car, only my passenger door locks leaving my driver side still unlock. if i manuelly lock it and try to disarm it, it won't unlock, just my passenger. i did research on this and people said it was the door actuator. I bought a door actuator for $20 from a s2ki user. when i got it, i try replacing it myself but this white thing is in a very tight place on the inside of your door. if you take off your door panels and that white piece of liner, peak your head through that small hole opening where your door jam is located and you'll see it on the upright of your door. it has couple rod connected to it and it looks very hard do. honda charge about 200 for labor to fix. people said that there are about 15 steps either way. from the outside and from the inside. youll have to check out the helms manuel which i don't have and was just told. good luck man. i just left mine the way it is until i have the money to take it to honda to fix since i have an actuator already. hope this help.

i only have one remote and im almost positive that it is not worn out b/c the red light still blinks everytime i press the lock button. i dont think its the door actuator either bc both doors will lock themselves after awhile and they both unlock just fine. the door switches both work fine too. im begining to think that it is an electrical issue or the alarm is malfunctioning.
