Double Din dvd/radio set-up

Orangeman has an AP2 center console, which is slightly raised at the radio door, so it would bind when the unit opens. AP1 S2k has an AP1 that has a lower center console right at the radio door.... this is why his works.

No problem. Also, couldn't you just tilt the unit back a bit (top edge of the unit is farther back and lower, and the lower edge is farther forward, and a bit higher), to allow the face to swing above the center console on a different swing path / arc? Also, how close is your fist to that screen when shifting hard into 3rd?

Some double DIN units lower a bit as they open, while others open on the same level. I think the Eclipse units open straight out as well as some Pioneer units.

I hope to have understood your council and will try to tilt more , but the hand never does not touch the screen in the change marce and I have made the job in that way because that position follows the shape of the console (look image).

joey see the project came along pretty well...im actually ditching my mdf piece...i redid mine out of fiberglass but still wrapping it in leather FTW!...ill post pics up again when im done!

I am not sure the tilting would even be possible, as the SRS unit is underneath there... Just a thought. Just make sure you hold onto that shifter when going aggressively into 3rd!
