Dome light not working.
So I was installing a set of hardtop strikers and while putting everything back together I notice the dome light isn't working anymore. I tested it at the on/ door position and the push buttons and nothing. At first I thought it were the aftermarket LEDs I have installed but they were working fine before. I even switched back to the OEM bulbs and still nothing. The contacts are fine as the car has only 26k miles on it. I checked the main wire harness and it seems to be fine. Could something have been pulled out of place when I let the trim/ light hang there. I was trying not to put a lot of stress on it. I snapped one of the dang clips that held onto the trim though...=(

The connectors for the dome light are at the light itself and down behind the dash on the passenger side. Check the fuses and if all of that is good, pull trim on the center and passenger side to make sure the wires aren't damage. I would still suggest checking the contacts regardless of the mileage.

I checked the contacts and they are fine. No corrosion at all. At first I thought it might be the contacts because when I took the cover off one of the contacts was not in place. I put it back on but still nothing. The wires in the housing looks normal and the main wire harness don't look damaged. It couldn't have gotten damaged from just the weight of the trim/ light dangling.
And actually I don't recall if the lights were even working right before I took the clear piece off. I had the door open and the top down but don't remember being blinded by the LEDs.
You said the connector is behind the passenger side dash but is it by the foot well? I took a quick look under there but didn't see anything. I'll have another look when I have day light. Which fuse box does the dome light use?

I polished the contacts and inspected the wiring. The connector at the dash shouldn't have come loose but I checked it anyways and it's not loose.
Is it possible that I have a short somewhere because now the trunk light and the light in the start button isn't work too. Again I thought it was just the LEDs but I switched it back to the factory bulb and that doesn't work.
How do I remove an under dash fuse and how do I check it?

There should be a white clip on the under dash fuse where you can pull out and use that as a "tweezer" to pull out the fuses. check the interior lighting fuse. to check the fuse either get an ohm meter and check for continuity. Or look at it and try to see if there is a break between the metal.

Problem solved. It was the fuse which I replaced and both the dome and trunk light are working again. I did see the white clip but I had a hard time taking it out. I couldn't get my fingers around both sides to pull it out. I ended up using a tweezer for plucking hair to get the fuse out. Lol.
Now hopefully the fuse won't blow again because that would mean there's a short somewhere right?
